Stand Guest speakers Dr. Stephen Krashen and Dr. Nooshan Ashtari will present a broad overview of heritage language development, including its importance, flaws in how heritage languages are currently taught, and methods for encouraging effective language learning. Dr. Stephen Krashen (Professor Emeritus, University of Southern California) and Dr. Nooshan Ashtari (University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education) are both renowned linguists and education policy advocates, with fields of research spanning heritage language acquisition, neurolinguistics, the role of virtual reality in language pedagogy, and many other related fields.
